Blog is derived from web log.
Blogs started out as online diaries, or journals. People would post entries to their site on the internet, detailing their lives.
Over time, the use of blogs expanded. News and gossip websites now often use the informal, chatty blog style to speak to their readers. Businesses also found that blogs are a great way to get involved in online discussions.
My blog is all about my work writing copy. The blog gives me a chance to write about what I do, and why I do it.
